Trey Azagthoth (born George Emmanuel III March 26, 1965) is an American composer and guitarist best known as founder and guitarist of the Florida death metal band Morbid Angel.

Azagthoth began playing at the age of 16. His playing features much utilization of the whammy bar, complex finger tapping, extensive use of a Morley Wah-wah pedal and other effects, and wailing guitar solos that have a distinct tone fans consider to be his trade-mark sound. He also does synth work for Morbid Angel. He cites Mozart and Eddie Van Halen as a huge influence and inspiration on his music. His state of mind when he solos is what he refers to as the "Temple of Ostx". A collection of some of his famous guitar solos from Morbid Angel's sixth album "Formulas Fatal to the Flesh" were put on a B-side record entitled "Love of Lava" which later were included on the second disc of Morbid Angel's 8th album, "Heretic". His non-musical interests include anime, his favorite shows being Sailor Moon and Gundam. His favorite video games include the Quake series, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Metal Gear Solid.

Decibel Magazine ranked him number 1 on their list of the 20 best death metal guitarists, and he was listed at number 7 in Joel McIver's 2009 book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists. Trey uses Ibanez and Jackson guitars, and at one point B.C. Rich, but has stated on his personal myspace page that he has worked out a deal with Dean Guitars to make, as he calls it, a personalized "X-Core" V. He is most famous for using B.C. Rich Ironbird guitars and lately, Jackson Warrior guitars. He was recently included in Guitar World's 50 fastest guitarists issue.

Trey's Gear has included, for some time, two Marshall JCM900 tube amps put into a chain into a stereo type effect. His favorite effects include an MXR Phaser and multiple chorus and delay pedals. These are run straight to his guitars, which have included the following companies: Jackson (Warrior), Ibanez (Universe), B.C. Rich (Ironbird), Dean (the new "X-Core" V), and Charvel (an explorer and superstrat shape).

Alexi Laiho , de son vrai nom Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho (et surnommé "Wildchild" ou "Allu") naît à Espoo en Finlande le 8 avril 1979, il est le guitariste principal et chanteur du groupe finlandais Children of Bodom, il est aussi le principal guitariste de Sinergy. Il fait également quelques apparitions dans certaines chansons des groupes finlandais Thy Serpent et Impaled Nazarene. Le développement de son style est fortement influencé par ceux de Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Roope Latvala, Yngwie J. Malmsteen , Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, Jeff Waters, Paul Gilbert et Dimebag Darrell. Plusieurs de ses compositions sont influencées par de grands compositeurs de musique classique, spécialement Mozart et Bach.

Alexi Laiho a commencé a jouer du violon a partir de l'âge de 5 ans, il decouvre son futur instrument de prédilection à 11 ans. Dès l'âge de 14 ans, il fonde son premier groupe, Inearthed avec son ami Jaska Raatikainen en 1993. À 16 ans, il décroche de l'école et se concentre pleinement à la guitare et la composition. Inearthed est principalement du Death Metal assez lourd et Alexi s'occupe de la voix (il s'inspire principalement de Philip Anselmo de Pantera et de Mille Petrozza de Kreator) et de la guitare principale (très influencé par Randy Rhoads et Yngwie J. Malmsteen notamment) et, ce qui déjà, confirme son grand talent, compose lui même tous les solos du groupe. Mais en 1996, le jeune groupe décide d'évoluer le style death metal en y introduisant un clavier. Janne Wirman, un autre ami d'Alexi Laiho, entre ainsi dans la formation. Plus tard, le nom du groupe est changé pour devenir Children of Bodom (d'après une histoire populaire en Finlande où 4 adolescents passaient la nuit non loin du lac de Bodom, près d'Espoo en Finlande, et ou un seul des adolescent fut retrouvé vivant et gravement mutilé, les trois autres étant morts. L'unique survivant assurera que cet atroce meurtre fut l'œuvre du Reaper [La Faucheuse, La Mort], qui est maintenant l'emblème du groupe [1] où Alexi compose désormais de la musique très mélodique. Il est le chanteur principal, guitariste, soliste et compositeur de toutes les chansons du groupe finlandais. En 1999, Alexi s'est engagé dans une rivalité avec le talentueux Jani Liimatainen du groupe Sonata Arctica, les 2 groupes se suivront comme rivaux finnois. Le 28 Septembre 2002, lors de la tournée de l'album "Follow The Reaper", il se fait voler ses guitares Jackson, auxquelles il était très attachées. Il est aussi le leader du groupe Sinergy et d'un groupe punk qu'il a fondé, Kylähullut, mais dans lequel il ne s'investit pas beaucoup, Children of Bodom lui prenant le plus clair de son temps.

Mick Thomson, ( 3 novembre 1973 dans la ville de Des Moines (Iowa, États-Unis - ), est le guitariste principal du groupe de nu-metal Slipknot. Son surnom est "Log" et sa devise est : "Ne m'emmerdez pas et tout ira bien".Mick a fait partie de plusieurs groupes dès l'âge de 16 ans. Ces projets (avec notamment Body Pit de 1993 à 1995) ne se sont jamais vraiment concrétisés et il préféra retourner s'occuper de son magasin de guitares et donner des cours. En 1996, Paul Gray l'appela un jour pour qu'il remplace Donnie Steele au poste de guitariste pour le groupe nouvellement créé Slipknot. Mick accepta tout de suite, s'ennuyant terriblement à cette époque. Il n'a pas quitté son poste et son numéro 7 depuis ce jour.
